NIKE X SACAI LDV WAFFLE
After breaking into the mainstream streetwear scene with her most recent Nike collaboration, Chitose Abe returns once again only months later with the newest iterations of her Sacai LDV Waffle trainers. First gracing the public's hands in contrasting Blue/Red and Green/Yellow colour ways this would be the first instance of the classic Nike silhouette receiving the Sacai re-construction treatment.
Unlike her initial collection, this time around Sacai has only released new colour ways for her LDV Waffle silhouette, however keep your eyes peeled as there have been plenty of new Nike Blazer colour way pictures which have been leaked. So if you're a fan of her taller silhouette alternatives, be sure to watch our Instagram accounts as we'll be posting all about them as soon as we get them!
Finally getting down to the nitty gritty behind the pair, the Sacai LDV Waffle re-imagines the classic Nike Waffle trainer putting a semi 're-constructed' spin on the shoe duplicating many of the fundamental aspects of the sneaker. With double Nike Swooshes, double stacked foam midsoles and an interesting dual layered tongue, Sacai have re-created a sneaker which I'm sure I'll be seeing more of as summer swings around!
