TAKASHI MURAKAMI TAN TAN BO JIGSAW PUZZLE (NEW) -
The artwork for this jigsaw puzzle is Tan Tan Bo. This is the work that marked the moment of my great growth as an artist. It was the first piece in which I was able to express the chaos in my brain.
At that time, the design process was extremely analog; while I did make the large character into Illustrator data on Mac, the small characters were almost entirely drawn by hand. We photographed the finished painting, later converted it into digital data, and used the image for this puzzle.
To represent the flickering flashes in my brain, I like to place reflective materials in the background. I use reflective materials like gold leaf, platinum leaf, or glittery pigments as a trick to prevent the eye from recognizing them in an instant. This time, in that vein, the jigsaw puzzle features a holographic finish. This is the first time we are using this material, and it is an attempt to make an already confusing puzzle even more complex.
Will it be a comfort to the brain? Or will it induce insanity through confusion? Test your brain with the Tan Tan Bo puzzle.
